It doesn't appear because it's received a patch to make it PS5 native instead of BC. Also, are there two different modes in the game? I've found footage that's 60fps, but also at 30fps even though captured at 60. If anyone can post 4K screenshots from PS5, that would be key. I've actively tried to find info on Outer Wilds not just in the thread, and have been unable to fill in all the details. I'm still a few pages behind, but wanted to answer some questions that have been asked. Just popping in to say that I'm trying very hard to catch up on analyzing and recording everything that's been posted. Not instant as in button press and done, but barely noticable It's pretty much instant it seems? Was that also on PS4? It really shocked me, that's how fast it was so I am really curious. Neverwinter on PS5 - Framerate cap turned offĮdit 2 - Just recorded some Titanfall 2 and was kind of shocked at how good it looked but most of all, the loading. In 1 minute after booting - oh this looks like jankĪfter 1 hour of playing - mmmm interesting You still got shit like Styx, but whatever, in general, it's really solid.

I booted up around 200 games the past 2 weeks and I honestly can not think of any other studio / publisher who had such a streak of decent to fast loading games. You could argue 'it isn't doing much crazy stuff' but so aren't many other simpler games that take way, way waaaay longer to load. Just look at The Council as well, it's just instant really.

Unfortunately, Cage wouldn't go into details about Quantic Dream's enigmatic title for the PlayStation 3, saying only that gamers should "Expect to be surprised." My current project has been easier to write, which was a relief, as it means I start to have a better understanding of this specific form of interactive writing." The writing of Fahrenheit has been incredibly difficult and painful for me, as I was writing a new format in its most complex dimension. Quantic Dream has massively invested over the past ten years in this aspect by acquiring a Motion Capture system internally and working very hard on facial animation and advanced rendering systems in particular."Ĭage also remarked on his different experiences in developing Fahrenheit and his current project, Heavy Rain: "Multi-layered plotlines are a pure nightmare to write. I see them as the vectors of emotion I need them to be as believable as possible in their acting performance and emotional response. Virtual actors, especially, are for me the most important part. "Today, everything is visual, so yes, the hardware helps a lot to reach the visual quality that becomes necessary. Cage spoke about what is required to create such lifelike facial characteristics in their animations: The two Heavy Rain screens show, up close and personal, the astounding visual detail that Quantic Dream has been able to give the game's characters. We were also lucky enough to receive a couple of exclusive screenshots of the game's "real-time virtual actors". All three have been involved in either games writing or directing on titles such as Haze, Heavenly Sword and Fahrenheit respectively.ĭuring the interview with Cage, he let TVG in on some golden nuggets of information about the studio's current title under development, Heavy Rain.
